Matthew 5:16
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven
Matthew 6:3-4
"But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
Any thoughts?
Perhaps the "good deeds" are really character traits, not actions. Purity in heart, virtue, gentleness, self control, these would certainly be a shining light.
